AIA is honored to be one of this year's main partners for Art Jakarta 2026.

 

Art Jakarta 2026 is a premier art fair showcasing contemporary art with a clear focus on Southeast Asia.

 

Held in the region’s dynamic cultural hub, it brings together leading galleries, artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts, creating a vibrant platform for artistic exchange and cultural dialogue.

 

This year, AIA is collaborating with IWAN TIRTA to present "The Living Legacy", a story about how legacy is not only about what we leave behind, but also about what we care for, so it can continue to live on and remain meaningful for the next generation.

 

We manifest this story through one of the motifs from the IWAN TIRTA SMERTI collection. SMERTI explores memory and jejak, the traces we inherit from those who came before us, which quietly shape who we are today and what we may one day pass on.

 

The motif that we bring to the exhibition is the elephant as an expression of legacy; something we carry together, care for, and pass forward.

 

Through this collaboration, the motif is transformed into a new form, moving beyond batik on cloth and reinterpreted as a hand-tufted textile installation.

 

Just like The Living Legacy, which is always transforming, growing, evolving, and finding new meaning for the next generations, so they can live a healthier, longer, better life.
